Rococo
The rococo - the line of beauty - replaced the baroque under the
middle part of the 18th century. This period was merrier and lighter
than the earlier period. The motives were often mythological or
erotic.
The rococo chandeliers often have the shape of a "cage" with a network
of thin tubes of glass. They are decorated with pendeloques and
flowers and at the bottom, as well as on the baroque chandeliers,
a ball of glass.
